As an orthopedic surgeon focused on sports medicine, I am constantly aware of how important rehab is post-op. It is important for patients to have convenient and effective methods of rehab so that they can get “back in the game” as soon as possible. We first started CyMedica with our QB1 muscle STIM system for post-op quadriceps strengthening. Our system was unique in that the STIM was built directly into a post-op brace or wrap and came with a handheld controller. This convenient apparatus allows patients to take their STIM with them anywhere whether that’s at home or the office.

We further revolutionized STIM with our new e-vive system that we just released.  It is app-controlled, and it further individualizes rehab to each patient. It is incredibly convenient, and patients can track their progress on the app as well as send data with their clinicians. This is helpful for both the patients and the clinicians so that rehab can be constantly tailored to each patient’s changing needs as they progress.

So far, we have seen great results with all of the CyMedica products, and we are excited to see how technology can keep revolutionizing rehab.

Questions for patients:  Would you be more likely to keep up with a rehab regimen if it were app based and controlled?  How would you feel about sharing rehab data directly with clinicians?
